Bobbi Kristina Goes In On Angela Basett Over ‘Whitney’ Movie Role Snub

Angela Bassett recently came out to clear the air on why she did not cast Bobby Kristina in the movie about Whitney Houston her mother, stating the obvious that Bobby was not a professional actress. Angela made the statement last week while speaking with Entertainment Weekly:
“I did not think about that. I did not think about casting her,” Angela told Entertainment Weekly. “And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she’s not an actress. I know she’s acted here and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft. It’s an attempt to illuminate the complexities of human behavior and life. And this is a very fast-paced schedule; we have just 21 days to tell this story. It’s more than just saying lines and turning the light on. You have to drive the story—there’s a technical aspect.”

When news of the Lifetime biopic first broke, Krissy, as she is popularly referred to, expressed that she should’ve been cast to play her mother. Angela’s response was obviously perceived as an insult by the upcoming actress. Krissy then went on Twitter to let it rip on Angela Bassett calling her names and making other snarky comments. One of her Tweets that was deleted afterward reads,
“Ha! Ms. Ang “basket case” has such a damn nerve,” the former reality star tweeted. “My Lord, at the least the world doesn’t mistake me for the wrong sex. She has #XTRAequipment.”
Another of her Tweet that wasn’t deleted is shown below.

Angela’s response seemed pretty reasonable and quite understandable. Bobby Kristina IS NOT an actress. She has battled with alcohol and drug usage for months and even her petty response to Angela Basset’s logical conclusion is proof that she is remotely ready to take on a role of the Whitney’s magnitude. Just my thoughts though. What do you think?
