Here’s an open letter from one of Peter Okoye’s fans or should I say critics? Hmm! I’m not sure where to place this guy yet but you be the judge of that. This fan/critic is of the opinion that Peter should stay off social media for a while.

We do not have a problem with this s*xy music star…as a matter of fact, we adore this one half of the talented music duo, Psquare for being a social media savvy, But we feel it’s time we discuss some of his recent social media updates (Instagram/Twitter) via his handle (@PeterPsquare). Yes, we know IG is one of the celebrities’ favorite social media platforms and there are plenty of stars sharing their photos on it everyday but hey Peter, we kinda need him to stay off that ‘space’ for a little while – we can almost bet that he spends more time on Instagram than on anything else (except music).
If he is not on Instagram to give us something to talk about, then he is busy on twitter. When he’s got trouble at home, at work, with the bank, or with a fan, or sipping a drink (you read that right), he tells it all out on social media. Let’s take you down the memory lane a little. On the 23rd of May, 2014, Peter known for changing his hair style at intervals; from Mohawk to Afro and now gorimakpa (bald head), (unlike his brother who stuck to his dreadlocks) shared photos of his new look “Look @ me now oww! #newme #newlook”” Around that period, he also announced that the rift in the Psqaure ville had been settled. While everyone else involved in the saga chose to keep mum and stay off the media, Peter decided to play the media spokesperson for the period – and we are grateful for that.
He also disclosed how a bank almost ripped him of millions of naira weeks back, threatening to sue the ‘un-named’ bank. “Has anyone experienced fraudulent transactions with a BANK before? This is because I am about to EXPOSE one of the banks I have being with for over 6 years. .Return all my money or I will EXPOSE you and SUE you. I will reveal the BANK on Friday 8th of August. 5days to go #finalwarning” he wrote on Instagram. (If you dont know what he’s talking about, read it here)
When on tour (like every other celebrity), he feeds us with all the necessary info. and much more – most times, we feel he tells Paul “Hang in there bro, while I share the photos” Oh by the way, he doesn’t hesitate in blocking inquisitive and rude fans – yea that’s allowed – but he announces it when he does so.
For being asked why he intentionally skipped his elder brother’s – Jude Okoye- wedding last month, he blocked several fans and even cussed out his critics on twitter by calling them Mufus. Whenever he is taking his kids on guitar lessons or swimming session, hang outs, rocking a new suit, trust Peter to share it all with us When he recently lost out a N800,000 bet to Phyno, guess who announced it?
We know when he is cooking up new songs with Don Jazzy or Jermaine Jackson – all thanks to the updates! Four days he posted the photo above with the caption “Look at me now, forward ever, different hair styles”, he further told us they (Psquare) were working on their sixth album. Oh we almost forgot to mention his numerous selfies. He shares selfies almost all the time – he has shared more selfies than any other celebrity that we can think of right now.
Weeks ago, he posted the “baddest selfie” of all time – oh yes he did. Last Sunday he posted a semi-raunchy photo collage with the caption “And dis is how I make dem ladies go gaga! #temtationsunday. And if u viewing dis pics from ur church. Der is God o! lol” Just hours ago he posted a selfie of him with the caption “Another #TemptationSunday shhhhhh! I knw it’s Sunday lolololol … But der is God oh” One of his followers @Stephani_co had to write “Can someone tell Peter to stop with these selfies, his too vain…we don’t want to see your fine self anymore……”
We rest our case.
So, now that you have read this fans opinion, whayasay? Should Peter take a break from social media of should he keep being himself and doing his thing?
