yesterday brought the event that all users with cracked iPhone 4s screens have been eagerly waiting for: the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus reveal. Both of the newest phone models created by Apple will be available for pre-order on September 12 and set to ship on September 19.
The phones, as always, arrive amid huge fanfare, with Apple loyalists eager to see what special bells and whistles each model features.
Here are the new features that will come with the iPhone 6 and iPhone Plus:
Improved Resolution
The iPhone 6 will have a screen resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels while the iPhone 6 Plus will have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. To compare, iPhone 5s had 1136 x 640 resolution.
It’s Thinner
As opposed to the 7.6 mm-thick iPhone 5s, the iPhone 6 will be 6.9 mm-thick and the iPhone 6 Plus will be 7.1 mm-thick.
Better Battery
The iPhone 6 will be able to handle 14 hours of 3G phone calling, while the iPhone 6 Plus will be able to handle 24 hours of 3G phone calling.
Bigger Screen Size
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will feature a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens, respectively.
Improved Camera
The camera will focus at twice the speed of the iPhone 5s with a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Improved WiFi
WiFi connections will be 3x faster on the new iPhones
WiFi Calling
Users will now be able to make phone calls via their WiFi connections.
Pay With Your Phone
With the touch of your finger (print), you will be able to pay for products with a built-in Apple Pay feature.
Improved Gaming Graphics
With its A8 processor, a 64-bit chip, the two new iPhones will be able to feature more graphically sophisticated games and fit over 100 animated characters on a screen at one time.
Smart Changing From Landscape To Portrait
The new iPhones will change intelligently when you switch from holding them vertically to horizontally, and vice versa. Your home screen, for instance, will display more apps to reflect a change in the way it’s being held.
One Handed Safari Navigation
You’ll now be able to go backward and forward between web pages via horizontal swipes of a finger.
High Definition Video Recording
The new iPhone will be able to capture video in 1080p high definition quality.
Apps
Over 1.3 million apps will be available for the new iPhones.
Power Button Location
The power switch will be located on the side of the phone to improve accessibility.
Easier Cutting, Copying And Pasting
Buttons for these functions will be included on the keyboard of the iPhone 6 Plus
Reachability Feature
While viewing a page, users will be able to double-tap the home button to have the page slide down, with the vacated space at the top of the page displaying buttons.
