The political atmosphere in Taraba state seems to be getting tense as accusations are being traded between acting governor of the state and the supporters of the ailing governor Suntai. According to Punch, the acting Governor has spoken out against a certain set of people who are trying to cease power by keeping the ailing Governor Suntai hostage.  Here's how Punch reports it.

Acting Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Garba Umar, has said a cabal surrounding  ailing Governor Danbaba Suntai, is holding the governor hostage in the bid to hold onto power to the the detriment of his health.
Danbaba, who returned to the country last Saturday after a long medical attention in the UK, is still in Abuja.
Speaking through his Special Assistant, Media,  Mr. Aaron Artimas, Umar said the cabal was also thinking and acting for the ailing governor because he was not capable of doing so himself.
He decried a situation where a clique had decided to hold the ailing governor hostage and make all the decisions for him because they wanted to perpetuate themselves in power.
Artimas said the cabal was also shielding Suntai from everybody.
He said the acting governor was prevented from welcoming the Suntai when he arrived at the Abuja airport.

However, a group, Tarabans United for Suntai, has said Umar was prevented from seeing the governor because he (Umar) had been sponsoring falsehood and half truths in the media against his boss to give an impression that Suntai had died.
The group said it was the highest point of hypocrisy for Umar to see Suntai when he (Umar) had, a few days before then, commenced moves to remove the ailing governor from power.
However Artimas said despite all the antics of the Suntai loyalists, the state government had continued to pay the governor’s medical bills as well as taking care of his family.
The acting governor’s spokesman said, “Suntai returned from treatment abroad and he is still in Abuja because these people are the ones thinking for him. It is those who want power that are looking up to him as the solution to their immediate problem.
“The truth must be told one day because no matter how long they continue to hold him and shield him from the people of Taraba S, they are still answerable to Tarabans who elected him.”
