When former Miss Nigeria UK, Dabota Lawson announced on social media that she was engaged to Prince Sunny Aku, the multi-millionaire owner of Novena Majesty Furniture – she got dragged and bashed by social media trolls who called her out for dating someone old enough to be her grandpa.
Responding to the negativity – Dabota took to Twitter and posted a picture of herself chilling in her fiance’s very lavish looking office – while resting her “hand” on a “Forbes” magazine (if you get what that means). She then went on to tweet several other tweets for a few days. This is what she said:
“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.They will never understand me, and I just don’t give a #**k.
“The past does not equal the future. When our emotions are engaged, we often have trouble seeing things as they are.People are more complicated than the masks they wear in society.
“Desire is both imitative (we like what others like) and competitive (we want to take away from others what they have).Playin with appearances & mastering d arts of deception are among the aesthetic pleasures of life. They are also key components in the acquisition of power.
“When you show yourself to the world & display your talents, you naturally stir all kinds of resentment, envy & other manifestations of insecurities. Living a few years of my life like most people won’t so that I can spend the rest of my life like most people cant.
“It’s not what’s happenin to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it’s your decisions about what to focus on.
“The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you.”
